Useful Information - Crime Mapping System


Thanks to Thurston County's Geodata Department, you can now quickly and easily view crime data superimposed on a map of Thurston County.

Easily zoom in to a town or neighborhood, and see patterns of criminal activity over various time spans. Now you can easily answer questions such as "Are car prowls increasing in my neighborhood?" or "Based on crime trends, should we start a neighborhood Block Watch program?"

Click the link below to enter the Online Crime Mapping System.

  • You will be presented with a blank map of Thurston County.

  • Click and drag to draw a box around the area you want to zoom in and examine.

  • A set of choices will be presented on the left side of the screen.

  • Double-click a yellow folder to expand your choices.

  • Check or Uncheck various boxes to show or hide types of crime.

  • If you need help, click the ? Help icon at the bottom right for general assistance.

NOTE: If the map does not appear, hold the CTRL key and press F5.
