MARRIAGES

Thurston County Superior Court Judges are authorized by law to perform marriage ceremonies in the State of Washington.  Marriage ceremonies are performed both at the Thurston County Courthouse and at other locations.  Costs vary according to the time and location of the ceremony.

Marriage License

There is a three-day waiting period between the date a marriage license is obtained from the Auditor's Office and the date a marriage ceremony can take place.  For more information regarding marriage licenses, contact the Thurston County Auditor's Office.

Two witnesses are required.  You may bring your witnesses or you may request the Court to provide witnesses for you at the cost of $10 cash each for weekday ceremonies; $30 cash each for weekend ceremonies; and $40 cash each for holiday ceremonies or ceremonies at locations other than the courthouse. For weekday ceremonies, all members of the wedding party and guests should be inside building 2 by 4:45 p.m.  Click here for a map.

If you would like to arrange for a marriage ceremony you may fill out the information below or come to Superior Court Administration, Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
