Thurston County Drop Box Sites

Thurston County operates three garbage drop boxes to make it easy for residents in south and northwest Thurston County to dispose of garbage.  All loads are measured and charged based on volume. 

Recycling blue bins are also available at each of these locations. Please click here to find out how to prepare materials for recycling.

All drop box locations are closed New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Rainier Drop Box -- 13010 Rainier Acres Road S.E., Rainier, 98576 (Google map)

April 1 to Oct. 31
Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Nov. 1 to March 31
Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Rochester Drop Box -- 16500 Sargent Road, Rochester, 98579 (Google map)

All year: Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Summit Lake Drop Box -- 12133 Summit Lake Drive, 98502 (Google map)

All year: Sunday only, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
