Tenino has been my home for 17 years. I am married and have a son that attends Tenino High School. I have been employed within the Juvenile Justice system for Washington State since 1995. I guide a program treating the most severely mentally ill juvenile offenders in Washington State.

My focus in running for city council is to repair a very broken system. Unfortunately the last few years have eroded any semblance of order in city hall. It is my commitment to help rebuild trust within the city, and help foster an environment of teamwork with the council, mayor, and community. My focus will be Community Safety. Tenino needs a community police force that understands the unique community needs. I will work to maintain and rebuild the police force to better serve the community. I will also focus on the sewer. It will be my focus to search out and obtain additional revenue sources to assist in maintaining the current sewer rates without a raise. I will also work to foster a climate conducive to business. Existing businesses in Tenino need to be encouraged to stay.

I would be honored to be your voice within the Tenino City Council.

Citizens of Tenino, I have been your neighbor for the last 39 years and have seen it improve and expand through most of that period. However, Tenino has been through difficult times since the economic collapse of 2008, and is just now starting to recover. I believe that my experience as a Councilmember for six years and Mayor for eight years can greatly help the City to continue its forward progress. The economic health of the City has always been my first concern and development that will increase the tax base continues to be my priority.

I spent many years building personal relationships with leaders in Thurston County and other cities, the Port of Olympia, and Thurston County Regional Planning. A good working relationship with all of these is essential to the future of Tenino. I am a strong mediator and have always been able to work with other Council members and the Mayor. Please let me have your vote.

Ballots available beginning October 14, 2015.
