Thurston County HazoHouse
2420 Hogum Bay Rd NE, Lacey, WA 98516
(360) 867-2912

HazoHouse no longer accepts standard alkaline batteries but still accepts all other types of batteries. Residents may take alkaline batteries to a battery recycler or, as a last resort, place them in the trash. Businesses are still required to take alkaline batteries to a recycler due to state and federal law. (Interstate Batteries on Martin Way in Olympia still accepts alkaline batteries.) There is a limit of 3 car batteries per residential customer per day. Under 2009 federal Department of Transportation safety regulations, you are required to place tape (any kind) over the contact points (terminals) of batteries before transporting them, or place each battery in an individual plastic baggie.

HazoHouse is open 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Entrance gates close at 4:45. Be sure to keep products in original containers. Never mix different products. Make sure items are well sealed, lids tight, placed in leak-proof tub or box with absorbent material (like newspaper) to prevent spills. Transport products away from children, pets, and vehicle passenger compartments. For more information, visit the HazoHouse website.
