Thurston County Fair InformationThe Thurston County Fair in Olympia, Washington is a family-oriented, old fashioned, five-day fair. The fair runs Wednesday through Sunday, always on the first full weekend in August. Come join us this year and pet the animals, spin some wool, cruise the carnival, visit the exhibits, get dizzy on the rides, check out the commercial vendors, and feast on the fabulous fair food.

The 2017 Fair Week runs from August 2 through August 6.  Admission hours are from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at a discount or at the gate.  There are lots of concerts and other entertaining acts each and every day during Fair Week which are free with your paid admission.

 2016 Fair Highlights

  • Attendance: 30,523; up from 26,250 in 2015.

  • Rudy Rabbit was selected by vote to be the 2017 Fair Mascot.

  • More than 751 animals were entered to compete in various club and open class contests at the Fair, an increase of more than 130 animals from last year.

  • The annual market sale brought in more than $102,000, only the second time in sales history to break $100,000.

  • Volunteer shuttle bus drivers logged over 2,332 miles transporting Fair visitors to and from their vehicles.  Drivers have logged over 19,000 miles and 3,300 hours in the past 12 years.

During the off-season, the Fairgrounds is in constant use for both private and public functions. Facilities include meeting halls and rooms, barns, arenas, and a camping area. The Fairgrounds also has a covered facility for winter storage of boats, vehicles and RVs .
