The Thurston County Public Health
and Social Services Department aims to provide professional service and timely
issuance of certified birth and death
certificates.
Important Notice
On January
1, 2021 a new vital records
law and rules went into effect in Washington State. This
changed the ordering requirements for birth and death
certificates.

The certificate fee increased
to $25.00 per copy.

Proof of identity and proof of
eligibility documentation are required.

For increased security of personal
information, only individuals with specific
relationships to the person on the record can receive a certificate.
Birth Certificates: Thurston County
- Births from July 1, 1907 to present
- Must have been born in Washington State
- Certified certificates can typically be
issued during
normal business hours
- Cost: $25.00 per
certificate.
