Virtual and Electronic Inspections - Pole Barn & Simple Footings

Instructions for videos or photos for electronic inspections are listed below. You may send more than one attachment.

The video or photos must provide the following information. Click here for inspection example.

The following must appear on the video:

  •  Identify the site by photos or recording so that a landmark can be identified that is near the area under construction. State the address
  • The site plan
  • Show where the property line(s) is in relationship to the structure. Use a tape if closer than 20 feet to the property line(s).
  • Inspection card
  • Approved set of stamped plans
  • From the approved plans, show footing detail
  • Show any chart that may refer to the size of the footing and the pole size
  • Identify each post with a letter or number
  • Video shall state which post it is. State that you are proceeding clockwise or counter clock wise. In the demo video, the applicant used a sticky note with the pole size, the footing type, the depth and diameter of the footing and the pole identification number.
  • Shine a light in the hole to verify concrete sack placement
  • Extend a tape measure down into the hole and show the depth then the width
  • Show the distance between the poles
  • Measure the post size
  • Move to the next hole repeat until done
