Virtual and Electronic Inspections

 

Thurston County Building Services Division is pleased to announce the release of a new pilot program for inspections in the field. We are currently offering electronic inspections. This involves the submittal of photos and videos that are submitted via email.

In the future we will offer Virtual Inspections (via Skype or Facetime webcam, videos or photos) to be used for certain types of inspections.

Our goal is to increase efficiency and keeping costs low making inspections convenient for citizens and the building community.

Please review the Electronic Inspection Submittal Instructions to assist you with any questions you might have about how to prepare for an inspection.

Below is a list of inspections in the pilot program. Click on the link to the instructions.

• Corrections from a previous inspection
• Minor plumbing installations where a self cert is provided for the pressure test
•  Pole barn footing inspections
• Gas Water Heater
• Ductless heat pump installations- After May 1, if submitted electronically, only electronic inspections will be accepted.
• LPG test and tank set
• Gas test
• Heat pump installations - After May 1, if submitted electronically, only electronic inspections will be accepted.
• Footings and Foundation (FND)- NEW
