Voluntary Stewardship Program - Links and Resources


This presentation gives an overview of the Voluntary Stewardship Program. It includes slides on the general process, legal requirements, descriptions of the technical and advisory panels and the role of the watershed group.

Washington State Conservation Commission

The Washington State Conservation Commission works with local Conservation Districts to encourage voluntary natural resource stewardship on private lands. For over 70 years, the Conservation Commission has worked to implement incentive-based practices that help landowners protect Washington's natural resources while maintaining viable agricultural production. Legal Links

The Voluntary Stewardship Program (ESHB 1886) passed the Washington State Legislature and signed into law by the Governor in 2011. Of the 39 counties in Washington state, 28 counties decided to participate. You can read the law in its entirety here.
