188th Avenue SW
Road access closure

Connectivity between 188th Avenue SW and Moon Road SW will permanently close on November 4, 2020. The closure, beginning at the intersection of 188th Avenue SW and Moon Road SW, and ending 0.36 miles west, is part of regional road safety improvements designed to reduce traffic volumes and maintenance on surrounding county roads. Emergency through access will be maintained and a turnaround constructed near the closure. The move comes after the completion of the Anderson Road and US12 roundabout by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) and eliminates the need for another roundabout on US12 at Moon Road SW. This project is part of the 2021-2026 Transportation Improvement Plan and Capital Facilities Plan and is in alignment with the County's Strategic Plan, Initiative 2 to improve community health, wellness and safety.
