About Chief Dave Pearsall


Chief Dave Pearsall was raised in Thurston County and began his career with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) as an Explorer/Cadet in 1982. In 1984 he became a Reserve Deputy Sheriff and was hired in law enforcement full-time in 1985. He graduated from Fort Steilacoom Community College, now known as Pierce Community College, and attended St. Martin’s University. Chief Pearsall has worked his way through the ranks of the Sheriff’s Office to his current position as the chief of the Support Service Bureau.

Chief Pearsall is assigned to oversee the Support Services Bureau, which includes Information Technology, Investigative Services Division, Records, and Evidence Sections and the Services Division comprised of the Front Desk, Civil, Warrants, and Firearms Sections. In addition, he is charge of the Sheriff’s Office fleet, Unmanned Aerial System (AIS) Team, and Honor Guard Unit.

Chief Pearsall is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He is a board member and past president of the Oregon-Washington Lawmen’s Association (OWLA), member of the Griffin Neighborhood Association, and Board Chairman of the Thurston County Chaplains Association for Public Safety (CAPS).

Chief Pearsall also serves as an elected fire commissioner for the Thurston County Fire District 13, Griffin Fire Department.

During his off-duty time, Chief Pearsall enjoys spending time with his wife Deana and their family, as well as photography and woodworking.
