Recycling items in the workplace

blue recycle binChances are, most of your employees already recycle at home. Take advantage of this great behavior and save on trash-disposal costs.

LeMay Enterprises offers a variety of recycling services, from traditional materials like plastic and paper, to food waste and yard waste. Businesses may sign up for individual services, or get "bundled" rates through LeMay's "Certified Green" program. (In Thurston County, all hauling services are provided by LeMay Enterprises and its subsidiaries. Thurston County does not own or operate garbage/recycling trucks.)

If your business is located within the City of Olympia, call the city at (360) 753-8752.

You can easily recycle the following materials.  Check our Where Do I Take My database for specific locations.

  • Office paper -- computer, copy, white ledger
  • Mixed paper -- color, glossy, junk mail, telephone directories, paperboard, magazines
  • Newspaper
  • Bottles (glass and plastic) and cans
  • Batteries, all types
  • Toner and inkjet cartridges
  • Metals -- aluminum, tin, steel, copper, other manufacturing scrap
  • White goods (appliances)
  • Video tapes, floppy disks and CDs
  • Electronic items such as computers, monitors, televisions, stereos, telephones, cell phones
  • Cardboard
  • Carpeting
  • Construction materials
  • Yard clippings
  • Food waste

Unwanted materials may also be donated, reused and recycled at local businesses and organizations. You'll be surprised at how much of your "trash" can actually be diverted from the landfill.
